Introduction to Fourth Pillar of islam(sawm/fasting)

Introduction to Fourth Pillar of islam(sawm)
                                                             Fasting
Fasting in the month of Ramadan is one of the 'pillars' of the Islamic faith. No proof is required to establish its being obligatory (wajib) and one denying it goes out of the fold of Islam
It was declared an obligatory duty (fard ) in the second year of the Hijrah upon each and every mukallaf (one capable of carrying out religious duties, i.e. a sane adult)
Allaah says (what means):
"O believers! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may learn self-restraint [Quran 2:183].
Allaah says (what means):
{And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn appears to you. Then complete your fast till the night comes.} [Quran 2:187].
